The Bodies in Motion 200-Hour Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher Training is intended for advancing students who wish to deepen their practice and for aspiring teachers who are looking for a course that provides the tools with which to teach intelligently and confidently. This rich program will certify students to teach alignment-focused and philosophically-inspired Hatha and Vinyasa classes. This includes the principles of Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative Yoga, Pre and Postnatal foundations, as well as the therapeutic benefits of yoga asana and pranayama.

This will be an intimate training offered by dedicated and supportive teachers. We offer a small group size of people to ensure there is a vibrant group dynamic and everyone receives personalized guidance and continued support throughout and after the training.

Our full-spectrum and individualized approach, allows each student to be nurtured through refinement of their personal voice and unique gifts. Topics include but are not limited to the history of yoga, yoga philosophy & lifestyle, teaching methodology, correct alignment, assisting, sequencing, anatomy, meditation, Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin and speciatly yoga. The practice of teaching yoga is a never-ending balance of intention, action and speech. We strive to create well-rounded yoga professionals who are equipped with the necessary tools & knowledge to help apply yoga techniques and structure to their own life and the lives of others. 

Course Objectives Include:
  • Yoga philosophy and the concepts of what it means to lead a yogic lifestyle. This includes understanding through study, Patanjali’s 8 Limbs of Yoga, the Bagvadad Gita & the History of Yoga
  • A working knowledge of the Asanas and Vinyasa sequences
  • The "Subtle Body" - all internal & external energy systems
  • Teaching methodology for many different styles of yoga
  • Knowledge and awareness of skeletal alignment and body mechanics
  • The fundamentals of yoga philosophy and how to apply them to teaching
  • Development of personal strength, coordination, balance, flexibility and range of motion
  • An introduction to “specialty” yoga including Stand Up Paddle Board Yoga, Chair Yoga, Kids Yoga and Prenatal Yoga
  • The language of yoga - applied Sanskrit
  • The “business” of yoga

Upon completion of this training, you will be a confident and empowered yoga practitioner with the ability to teach and assist a powerful and effective yoga class. You will have an understanding of time-tested sequencing, methodology, healthy alignment principles, the ability to modify or intensify a practice to connect with all levels of practitioners, and new communication and leadership skills.
